Three days ago I went to my first doctors appointment. My midwife that will be with me for the remainder of my 9 months was incredibility inappropriate. She was extremely rude she had me crying by the end of the appointment.

-I went in the room alone because I had my boyfriend wait for me in the waiting room until the ultrasound. She literally said "where is babydaddy, I'm assuming he is black because you're here alone"

-before the pep smear I asked her to explain exactly what she is doing and for what (knowing what will happen in order reduces my anxiety) and if she could put it in slow she was so angry. She also stated that she wasn't just going to shove it in. Then she did just that.

-she then rudely said "I'm going to stick my fingers in there, don't break them off.

-she made a comment stating that black males carry STDS and I shouldn't be involved with one.

-she asked my education level and how I planned to support the baby because I am 21. I stated that I just got my bachelors degree and currently work as a full time caseworker and EMT on weekends. Then she stated that I was " too educated for Black's"

-I felt so disgusted with this lady. She said a lot more but this is already long. Diet about that I just needed some advise... Can I switch my midwife? I really don't want to be with her for nine months. My boyfriend was livid.
