Father figure fathers day gift?

What is your opinions?!

I want to get a fathers day present for my boyfriend, he isn't a father yet, but in the past year he has made a huge impact on my son! My son has his father in his life, he goes to his dads for a week every other week but if he had a choice in the matter he would rather be with my boyfriend.

Should I get him something or would that not be okay?

Totally up to you and what makes you guys happy, but here's something to consider... What if your ex had a new girlfriend and decided to get her a Mother's Day gift for being a maternal figure to your kid? That would probably hurt your feelings.

My daughter is four and I have been with my SO for fours year this July. I have gotten him something every Father's Day since he IS her father. It's not about genes it's about whos there... In May case tho my daughter hasn't seen her biological father in 3 years.

I beleive it would be a good idea! Just as long as he knows who his actual father his & that this is his stepfather. It's always a good idea to encourage a positive bond between your child & their step parent. He will know that he's appreciated & will probAbly make their bond stronger

i think as long as she knows shes the mother figure at his dads but is not his actual mother then i would be okay with it 😄 his ex girlfriend was trying to have my son call her mom, my son knows my boyfriend isnt his dad but he is a father figure at my house. as long as the other figure knows she is his back up mom when im not there then im okay with it, i just think since my boyfriend has been in his life consistantly for over a year then its okay. if his dad had a girlfriend who was consistently there i woild have no problem, but a girl who's in and out of his life ia more of a problem then a parental figure
