Smells making me gag

Is anyone else experiencing a nauseous feeling after smelling something? My husband made himself meatballs and the smell of it was so overwhelming that I thought I was going to vomit. I have been outside now for 30 minutes trying to get fresh air and get rid of the smell but it won't go away! Please tell me someone has been through this and how can I get rid of it ASAP?
