Zofran?

Question

Do any of you ladies take zofran to combat your nausea? I know there's that commercial on tv about it now but I feel like there's always a law suit for everything! What do you ladies think?

The hospital always prescribed me zofran.. Even when I went for a check up they alwaysprescribed  zofran. I never took it after seeing all the birth defects commercials about it. I don't understand why they kept trying to prescribe it for me.

I used reglan. But it was prescribed for something else, just happened to help the nausea too. I've only ever had luck with iv zofran, pill form doesn't work for me.

I took it while I was in the hospital during my 2nd trimester. Those commercials are paid for by lawyers. I personally don't think it's wrong to take. It helped me a ton. Only way I kept food down. Plus, I don't think doctors in a labor & delivery unit would prescribe anything that could harm any baby!

The lawsuits are a specific situation, Zofran used at normal doses isn't a problem.

I take it occasionally. Lately it's been once a day. It takes the edge off my nausea if I'm not vomiting. But if I'm already vomiting it's too late and it doesn't do anything. Just my experience. I tried Reglan, Compizine, Phenergan, and Zofran. Nothing has helped my hyperemisis but the zofran made it a tad easier.

I took it religiously with my first pregnancy and my son is a perfect 3 year old :) I have also taken it orally and had minimal IV therapy with this pregnancy. The doctor told me my daughter has a "gorgeous heart" and everything is completely fine :) if it helps you, take it! EVERYTHING has risks, even Tylenol lol if you can't keep anything down then take something. Good luck momma! :)

It's safe, my sis took it with all 3 pregnancies and her babies were fine.  I wouldn't have made it through my first trimester without it!

I am 10 weeks exactly today and I take it. In my opinion it's safe to take because I doubt my doctor would have prescribed it to me if he would think it's unsafe. Of course I asked him what he thinks about the lawsuit and everything and his answer was that there will be always a couple women who give birth to babies with a defect no matter if they took zofran or not.. and honestly I couldn't function without it.. hope you feel better soon !
