Breastfeeding?

I plan on doing it. How was it for you? Was it easy? Does the hospital let you do it right there when baby is born or how does that work?

It's definitely tough in the beginning, but so worth it! I was so sore for a little over a week until my nipples got used to it, that I almost gave up. I couldn't have done it without Soothies (pads you put in the refrigerator to get cold) and nipple cream. After about 10 days I was able to nurse my baby without pain.

Definitely take advantage of the nurses and LC at the hospital. They offer a lot of support and advice. I was glad they were there in the beginning because I had no idea what to do.

BF definitely isn't easy in the beginning but stick with it if you can! I had to have an emergency c-section but in recovery when I woke up and held my daughter for the first time they had me nurse her within 15 mins. We had issues in the hospital with latching and found out she had a tongue tie but once that was fixed it got much better. Definitely use the advice and help of the nurses and lactation consultant.
