I have a friend breast feeding and it turns our her baby boy has several severe food allergies that were coming through her milk.  She is now on a strict diet so she can continue to feed him.

My very close friend was breastfeeding her son in the beginning, he got very sick, jaundiced. They did some tests and found he was not responding well to her breast milk. He went on formula after that. So, it does happen, but I believe it's very rare.

Not likely. It's far more common to have an allergy to something you've eaten that's passed into milk. Common culprits are dairy, eggs or soy in the diet. Consult your child's pediatrician ASAP!
