Pcos. What is it????

I was just recently told by my dr that i have pcos. I dont know much about it. Does anyone on here does??

I have it. Basically small cysts can form on your ovaries caused by either over or underproduction of hormones. It is generally linked to hormones that help you process sugar in your body, which is why some doctors prescribe meteor in, which is commonly prescribed for type two diabetes patients.
It is not diabetes, but it can cause irregular cycles, limited ovulation, no ovulation, releasing too many or too few eggs and can be a really pain in the butt to get pregnant with. Some cases it can be controlled by weight loss and diet, in other cases not so much. It does generally Cause an overproduction of male hormones such as testosterone and can cause hair to grow like men's hair. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 5 years now with no luck whatsoever.

Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome. The leading cause of infertility among women. But not always correctly diagnosed. I was diagnosed and got pregnant the first try. Lots of symptoms.. Can include missed periods, excessive hair growth and bad acne due to higher levels of testosterone, and others.. Google it, lots of info on the web. Don't panic! Good luck.

What do you want to know? Lol. I've been diagnosed for 12 years. I reccomed internet research. There is a lot involved with PCOS. Basically your ovaries get nasty little cysts and cause all kinds of rukus for your hormones. But I'm serious. If you have a specific question ask away!
