ParaGard IUD

I'm 15 and I plan on getting the ParaGard IUD. My parents do not want an outrageous amount of hormones injected. So we've researched ParaGard, and it shows the least amount of hormones. IUDs are recommend if you have had a child, which I haven't. But they want the most effective contraceptive for me, that won't affect my body too much. We're already set on the IUD. What are your experiences with the ParaGard IUD? Should I consider a different brand? Are there any bad side effects, or any suggestions? Thank you!
