Will you teach your child "old ways" of doing something that has been replaced by technology?

I most definitely. I plan on teaching my children how to write properly. Both printing and cursive. Some peoples writing now a days is shameful. Also I don't want them to rely on a computer to check their grammar and spelling. These are things they should know.

Yes, definitely. I'm 19 and my parents taught me how to do everything the old and modern way. I can read and navigate maps but also use GPS efficiently. I can do complicated maths in my head and use a scientific calculator very well and often do both just for practice. I can use a typewriter (I was given one in my auntie's will and write letters with it just for the fun of it) and fax and cassettes even though they probably won't be around in the future. I can drive a manual and rewire a plug and if you ever have an issue with modern tech I can probably figure it out for you if you give me a chance.

They're not even "old" things but it constantly surprises me how little a lot of my friends can do when it comes to practical things because they just weren't taught.

We live out here in the country side, so yeah. We gatden, raise our own meat, hunt, fish, and build our own houses and so on. So almost everything. We like playing video games and we do have smart phones, and computers.

I've taught my kids old school math techniques in place of newer, more complicated ones. I'm currently working on introducing them to cursive handwriting.
