Low iron?

Question

I'm 28 weeks.  My doctors office just called and wanted me to pick up a prescription tomorrow Because I have low iron. Idk what kind of prescription they're giving me. All I know is that they told me I have low iron.
Should I be worried?  Does that hurt the baby? Sorry if it's a dumb question I'm a FTM. And on my own.

Becoming slightly anemic in pregnancy is very common. I too had to add an iron supplement to my diet in the second half of pregnancy. 
It's nothing to do with baby/harming baby, your blood volume is increasing and needs more iron to function correctly, it's so your body can clot and prevent hemmoraging. You can get an over the counter supplement or take the prescription one, just be warned, it can constipated you. I take a liquid iron supplement, you can find it at whole foods or other natural stores, it doesn't constipate you. It's best to take with citrus (like orange juice) to help absorption.

I was anemic before but being pregnant made it worse. Iron supplements make me feel so much better.

I've been anemic for as long as I can remember and becoming pregnant can make it even worse. I take a prenatal and an iron pill every day. In the first trimester I took two iron pills daily. The last time I had my blood work done my iron was prefect! In getting more blood drawn Friday so we will see if it's still in the good range. I'll be 27 wks on Friday also.

I've been on an iron supplement since I had my first appointment at 9 weeks!! I think it is pretty common during pregnancy to be anemic (having low iron)
