We had been trying for months then I decided to give myself a break and do triathalons, I had always been active as a runner. I basically gave myself permission to have a year off, keep trying but without the pressure. Unfortunately (or not) as I already had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, I became run down from the training and was perhaps overtraining... I developed Mono. This ground everything to a halt and made me re prioritize my goals, and besides I didn't even have the energy to workout. I also expected after previous attempts that I would have to use fertility treatment. We tried on our own for 6 months and then went back to the fertility center. We did the necessary blood work and planned to do IUI next cycle. My husband had a work trip to Scotland and I decided to go, have a break. I was ovulating a couple of days before we left and I didn't expect anything to happen as I would be traveling. The trip was amazing, fun and relaxing. The day after I got back I noticed my breasts were sore so immediately did a test. It was positive...our patience and persistence paid off with no intervention necessary.
