Visitors after laboring...... I would like one day after birthing my first child to bond as a family and allow my baby time to learn mom and dad's sounds touches and scents before the baby, new dad, and mom get bombarded with visitors. What is ok???

I have already told everyone we will take the first week at home to bond with the baby and visitors will be welcome afterwards. They all accepted my request. 
The only people who will be welcome to visit earlier are my mother and father in law and even they will come a few days after the birth.

After having a baby and having ppl passing around my baby and talking I'd freak out. Like you waited 9 months to meet your baby you should hold it and bond with it. Thats my thoughts though

I didn't get this option I had people push their way into the room literally right after he came out. I didn't even get to hold my son until a after everybody else did and there were 30 different people there that held him before I did and then I had people coming and going the rest of the day and part of the night so we left the very next day. So I would say ABSOLUTELY take time to bond with baby and let him/her get to know mom and dad it will be a lot nicer to have that than a whole bunch of people pushing their way into the delivery room right after!! 👍 good luck I hope you get what you want and people don't argue with you about it.

I feel the same way. I want at least half a day with just my husband and I to bond before my immediate family come for a visit. I'll ask extended family and friends to come after 3 days and only so many at a time so I don't feel overwhelmed and bombarded and bub can rest

I would love to have the whole first day just be me, my husband, & baby, but I know we will have to at least let the grandparents visit or they would get their feelings hurt.

I've told everyone after the baby is born we as a family (my husband, baby, and I) need a couple of hours to get used to being a family. Most of my family is ok my grandpa was hurt but I explained to just give us a few hours and he can meet his great grand baby...after that he was ok but I plan on using my nurses to every extent I can to limit time and visitors

Alot of people showed up unannounced at the hospital with my first it gave me bad anxiety I felt like everyone was always taking my son away from me...  was only in the hospital for like two days and I mean I carried him for 9 months to wait just for the moment to meet him then I have to let everyone else hold him? It might sound selfish but it's true I was never one of those mom's that liked other people holding my baby. With this pregnacy the only ones allowed to visit at the hospital is my mother and my SO who will be there during birth. Other than that everyone can damn well wait tell I'm ready to bring my little princess out to meet everyone.

Everything changes in the moment tell everyone to stand by and you will call when you are ready :) figure it out when the time comes! You never know how you're going to feel.
