Frustrated First Time Mum!

Urgh, so as you already know, I'm a first time mum, so this is all so new to me. But I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow (Friday), and it seems like there's no sign of my little girl being on her way anytime soon! It's so annoying. I know a lot of first time mums go beyond their due date, but my midwife was telling me since around week 34/35 that she really doubts I'll reach my due date, so that's kind of gotten my hopes up. At 37 weeks, I started getting what I thought were mild contractions (they still could of been, maybe, but I haven't really had them since...I think?), and I spoke to my midwife that same week and asked if she could examine me, and she said that in the UK they don't usually examine your cervix until you've gone past your due date... So I don't even know what's happening "down there"! I know my baby's head is already engaged but nothing else.
