Epidural or natural ?

Really on the fence about this... Idk what to do needles kinda freak me out...

From my experience, you can have a natural labor only if you are prepared well enough. ... prenatal classes, lots of reading, and what I find essential- a doula...
If u come to birth with a "oh well, we'll see how it goes. ..." it doesn't really help when contractions start getting stronger.  You need to have knowledge and mostly- the right support!

My OB told me to just enter the hospital with an open mind to go either way. Some women can manage the pain more than they thought and others can't, either way is perfectly OK as long as YOU are comfortable! She did tell me that if the pain is taking a lot out out of you though it's better to go for the epidural so you can get a little rest before the big workout of pushing 😉

Compared to the pain of labour. The needle will be nothing. You won't even notice it

From what I've read and seen with what the harmful affects of an epidural can do, I will not be getting one unless it is completely medically necessary that I have a cesarean. Billions of women in history gave birth just fine without it, and so can I. I'm not willing to be out of pain for a few hours for the risks that there are when getting an epidural.

It's up to you. I think just the fact alone that needed freak you out isn't enough to decide on a natural or medicated birth. Become knowledgeable on both,weigh out the pros and cons, and I think you'll find it easy to make a decision based in your preferences.

The epidural didn't work on my sister in law. So she just used the laughing gas and she loved it! Hah

The epidural doesn't really hurt at all & you won't even see the needle. They give you a numbing shot first and that stings a little, but other than that it's pretty painless. I didn't have any weird side effects from it, I wasn't all the way numb & it had worn off by the time I needed to push so I basically felt almost all of the pushing stage, breastfeeding went fine after & we had no latching issues (idk if you're planning to or not) & I was up and walking around as soon as I got to my room. The epidural is a GREAT thing, lol, but if you want to do natural I would say to really prepare yourself at least as much as possible, there is no way to describe the pain.

I would just see what happens that day. I wanted to have one but my labor was so fast I had no time.

I have has one baby with an epidural, and one all natural. The all natural birth was by far the better experience. Baby #3 will be all natural for me. :)
