Sex can push bacteria up into the urinary tract system and cause an infection very quickly, for both you and him (although he may not exhibit symptoms as quickly).

Bacterial infections that go untreated or are not treated correctly can eventually move up into the bladder....and then in extreme circumstances, the kidneys.

It's always a good idea to wash down there after sex to minimize the risk.

Bladder infection, no. UTI, yes, and untreated UTIs can cause bladder and kidney complications. If you think you have a bladder infection, see a doctor. They are usually bacterial, and can be treated with antibiotics easily, but they can be potentially serious if untreated.

I did, but it wasn't from being 'dirty'. I thought it would be a good idea to stuff tissues 'down there' after sex and then go to sleep for the night. Apparently holding in all the sperm all night is a bad idea, and as a result I woke up with a horrible stinging, burning sensation when I peed and that urgency to pee every 15 seconds. Lesson learned lol!
