IUD for birth control?

Need options on these. Did they hurt when inserted? Did they work well? Did they cause weight gain? Etc

I've had a really good experience, hurt a little the day of and the day after I got it put in. Nothing major tho, mostly it was just light cramping. I haven't had any noticeable side effects really. It was definitely the right choice for me, I love not having to worry about it and knowing I'm protected for 5 years.

I had the Paraguard IUD for about 6 years and I loved it! Took it out a month ago to TTC for baby #1. IUD was my only option after I had a stroke. It was a bit painful to have put in and I bled pretty heavily during my periods but you never have to think about a pill or a ring or a shot. It was great! I think it's a wonderful option!
