How long was your induction?

Ftm. Being induced Monday at 39 weeks. I'm nervous cuz I am 50% effaced and only .5 cm dilated. Anyone else had similar experience and how long sis it take before baby was born? Doc says it can take over 24 hr just to ripen my cervix!!! I really don't wanna be in the hospital for multiple days prior to babies arrival.

I went in 5/28 at 11pm to be induced, I was 3cm dilated. I started Pitocin at midnight and delivered my little guy at 12:04AM 5/30 :)

I was induced with both my daughters. My first was via patocin 8 years ago, it was a 23 hour labor. My second almost 5 years ago they broke my water and I had a 9 hour labor.  In the end I think it depends on what method they use and how your body will respond to said method.  Your in my thoughts mama!

It took me 51 hours. My cervix was still closed so they gave me the ripening medication every 4 hours but I was stuck at 2cm fooorreevvver. Doctor came to rupture my water bag after about 24 hours or so and started the Pitocin. Then I got stuck at 6cm. After the nurses couldn't figure out what was wrong my Obgyn came to the hospital to check for herself and noticed baby was stuck behind my pelvic bone that's why the cervix wasn't opening. She turned baby's head and not long after I was pushing. It took me 1 hour exactly to push baby out. I was exhausted but medicated so I didn't feel too much pain.

Anyone have the dr break your water then have them push pitocin at the same time? That's what my dr said he will do Friday morning. I was 4cm on Monday and thick, baby's head is down. Have been having contractions but nothing consistent or painful. I lost some of my plug earlier today.

I was in the hospital for 42 hours before we decided to take the baby via c-section.  The cytotec pill did help ripen my cervix, but after using pitocin for over 24 hours I was still only at 8cm and my contractions were not strong enough to deliver the baby.  I think that's an extreme case so I would think you should have your baby within 24-36 hours.  Good luck!

Following because I go in tonight at 9pm to get the cervix ripening stuff (I'm barely a 1 and 50% thinned) they said they'll give it 4 hours later (1am) then at 6am (Friday) we can either break my water if I've dilated enough or start the poticin (or both).

I went in on 5/31 at 7:30pm and baby girl didn't arrive till 1:13am on 6/2.

My sister in laws took 6 hours on the first one and 4 houra on the second, it depends how much pitocin (alternative) you can tolerate.

I was induced with my first, I think I was only 1 or 2 cm but can't remember for sure. 12 hours. Not bad. You'll do fine, good luck! I'm being induced Tuesday with my 2nd at 39 weeks. Unless she finally decides to come out on her own. Doubtful.
