Bloody show/muscas plug question

The muscas plug can regenerate if your not dilated but if you don't know when you lost it and at your last apt you were 2cm dilated does that mean you still have time to loose it or should it be gone already? Secondly with the bloody show does it stop coming out or keep coming until the baby comes out? Can it be a lot when it first starts and slowly slow down?
