What to you think of spelling?

My father passed away 2 years ago.  We don't know gender of baby, but if it's a girl I want to name her after him. His name was Lawrence.  My husband would like to spell Lauren like this .... LAWREN.  I'm on the fence.

Ehh, I think it's too deliberate when pronounced. And the way it should flow is LAUR-en. Say them both out loud with the different spellings and you'll see the difference. Btw, Lauren is already a feminine form of Laurence so I'm not sure spelling it differently even makes a difference! :)

I would think that would be pronounced differently. La-wren. Rather than Lor-en. I dunno. I would think stick with the traditional spelling.

Mmmm, no. Haha, Lauren is a great name and way to honor him, but I wouldn't spell it like that. Besides theres also the Laurence spelling

Go with Lauren! Super pretty and definitely works as a tribute to Lawrence.

Would you consider naming her Lawrence? You could still call her Lauren and spell it that way for school. IMHO, I think a double name would be adorable (I have a double name): Mary Lawrence or Emily Lawrence. Just thinking.,.either way, the meaning behind it is nice, and you and your husband have some good options. Good luck!
