Is it normal for me to be jealous and angry?

My boyfriend was texting some random girl, he NEVER texts anyone. He hardly ever uses his phone which is why I really raised my eyebrows. We were watching a movie and I was giving him the stank eye all the way through the movie, cause his phone was going off like crazy. When he finally went outside, I followed him and sat down with him. I asked him who he was talking to. He said some random girl. I wanted to know how he found her, what's her name and what city is she residing in. He laughed at me and told me I was overreacting and why does it feel like I'm interrogating him. I said I have every right to. If I have that gut feeling, I'm going to follow it. He said, he doesn't care what her intentions are and he's just "talking". I said bullshit, you need to knock it off.
