Help! Need advice ASAP!!

I am ovulating right now so advice ASAP would be greatly appreciated! My OBGYN has not been very helpful at all.. I was diagnosed with something she didn't even tell me what, that's how bad she is, anyway the way she explained it was that normal people have 2 genes for folic acid in their system. I am apparently missing one.. Does anyone know what this is called or how to treat it? It has caused me a miscarriage in my first ever pregnancy. I'm ttc again and need answers, I do not want to see her again so I will need to wait another 2 months to see another OB. She prescribed me some pills, not even sure what they were, can't get them because they aren't covered by my insurance. Any one have answers please I think I'm going crazy! I have been taking folic acid supplements for a month or two now, 800mcg's. And I have just started taking multi vitamins because I'm trying to read up and I think I have MTHFR but I'm not sure.. Anyone know? I am sure I sound crazy like I don't know what I'm talking about, or like I don't ask enough questions which is true, I don't ask enough to my doctor.. But I at least expected her to explain more to be about this thing I have.....
