VBAC or another Csection?

Question

I had a C-section 6 years ago at 38 weeks because my son was breech, I also lived over an hour away from my doctor. I've done lots of research on vbacs but they make me nervous, I'm afraid I won't go into labor or progress on my own... The thought of uterine rupture is scary too! With my csection I was in horrible pain, stayed in the hospital for 4 nights and couldn't do much with my baby at first.

Any advice if you've had a 2nd csection or a vbac?

Also please all of you do your research my OB said for me to go for the VBAC because there are more risks to the mother and baby with a repeat c section then with a VBaC!

We're attempting a VBAC!! And don't worry about uterine rupture! There's only a .5% chance it will happen! That's less then 1%!!!

My first two were natural births my last was a emergency csection due to fetal distress while in labor. I'm going to try for a vbac. Its so much easier to heal from especially in my situation I have to come home and care for four children one with autism. So it's definitely a personal choice. I have other reasons for a vbac but the ones o listed are the very important ones. You do what's best for you and your family. If you have family willing to help you and not complain then do a csection its totally a personal choice. Good luck.

I had a c-section with my first who was a stillborn I was lucky enough to be able to deliver my other 3 vbac I found vaginal birth was easier to heal from but everyone is different

I'm a nurse. I've taken care of many vbac victims of rupture. Rupture is actually very likely if your vbac happens within a few years of your first csection. Your first child is 6 so your risk of rupture is low, but the risk is still there. I think it's completely up to you. Childbirth of any kind is a risk. You're a smart and wonderful mama, go with your gut intuition.

And it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks anyway. This is your body. If you want to try for a VBAC, try for a VBAC!!  Just because something is popular doesn't make it the best decision for you.

Plan for both. The VBAC is a great option for you!! Your scar tissue is healed as much as it can be so the chance of you rupturing is so slim. If you are worried about not being able to relax take some Bradley method classes and educate yourself as much as you can. You CAN do it and you will probably be so glad you did. 
However, just in case you don't progress, have a plan b. You have already had a csection so the worse case scenario. You didn't do well with a csection the first time so why do it again if you don't have to.

My first 4 years ago was an emergency csection due to cord around foot causing heart rate to drop.

My second 2 years ago was a try for labor and I was induced but didnt progress in 12 hours so I opted for a csection. A tumor was found during the surgery that was removed then.

I now am due with my 3rd dec 1 and doc has given me the option of another try for labor BUT only if I go naturally into labor and before 41 weeks AND of baby is estimating less than number 2 (8 lbs 7 oz 21.5 inches. And he was super stuck and needed to be sucrioned out during csection).

She said the likelihood of a uterean repture is less than like .08% based on the way I was stitched up.

At this point I am leaning toward csecrion because I recover fast from it and labor so far hasnt gone well. Hubby prefers cesction again too.

I still have plenty of time to decide!

I had a c-section 4 years ago and my dr said i can decide to do another c-section or vbac. She said when it gets closer to delivering then she will check to make sure if its safe to do a vbac. Im going inbetween on which one i want. But im leaning more towards c-section again.

I'm in the same situation as you. I can't decide! I have my first appointment with a new OB doctor tomorrow so I'll see what she has to say.
