Delayed Cord Clamping

Rayshelle
Delayed cord clamping is when you request that you doctor put the clamp on your baby's umbilical cord late. Probably about 2-4 minutes (until the cord stops pulsating). Your baby is born with 2/3s of their blood and 1/3 making it's way to them through cord, from the placenta. That last 1/3 had beneficial things such as, stem cells, more red blood cells, and immune cells. Those are then benefits but, a downside could be jaundice (very few babies catch this). Immediate clamping could cause iron deficiency and some other things...would you request delayed clamping or not?
