When to talk to my doctor...

Question

When should I talk to my doctor about TTC? We're currently on month two but we're just trying to plan ahead as to how far we should go until we make an appointment with my OB.(:

I met with an OB two months in mainly as a pre pregnancy visit. We talked, discussed when I'd like to become pregnant/was only off pill for 2 months and was told to go back on day 23 of next cycle to get blood work done to check progesterone levels to make sure I'm ovulating properly. Wouldn't hurt to go to get checked and get direction of what to expect.

You should have a pre-pregnancy screening. They will make sure everything is normal and ready to go and have you start prenatal vitamins and folic acid. You should start those prenatals about a month to three months before you conceive. Perfectly healthy couples usually take 6 months to a year to conceive. So make an appt to be screened & then give it a year!
