C-section under general anesthesia?

Question

Since I am currently in the hospital and may be until I deliver (I'm 28 weeks today 😞) because of bleeding on the brain and cerebral spinal fluid leak from T-2 to T-9, I will most likely be delivering by c-section under general anesthesia.

Has anyone delivered this way? Was your partner allowed in the room?

I was put under general due to emergency csection and not able to get epidural to work. I felt very drugged for HOURS after which made breastfeeding difficult. Our hospital also didn't allow my husband to be in operating room :( I wish I could've been awake but my son was born healthy and after anesthesia wore off, everything was fine. :) sometimes things just don't go according to plan! :) Good luck!

I had to be put under 4 yrs ago with my first. All vitals dropped for my son and I and my epidural never worked so I could feel everything. They rushed me into surgery and had to put me under. The worst part was my husband was not allowed in the room. But while I was waking up and coming to he had been with the baby the whole time. They brought him right to daddy as soon as he was stable. Honestly it sucked , but most important thing was we all left healthy and happy. Due in 11 days with #2 and well see how it goes. Is that when they put you under? If so that's what they did to me and I'd much rather it be that way. I woke up about 45 mins after. And the gas kinda burned my throat but I was out in seconds.

My mom told me this is how hers was done. She said my dad wasn't allowed in the room but that was 24 years ago so I'm sure things have changed since then.
