They don't see a fetus????

Question

So I just went to have an ultrasound done and the tech said that she sees the sac but she not seeing a fetus...at this stage of my pregnancy which is 7wks  3days there should be a fetus showing by now...my question is should I be worried about having a miscarriage? #ScaredMother

If there's no fetus, it's probably a blighted ovum. It means basically the sac developed without the embryo. It causes half of all miscarriages in the first trimester.

That happened to my friend a few years ago. The Dr's scared the crap out of her and even told her that she should have the sac removed! I advised her not to! 2 weeks later she went back and they were able to see the baby. Sometimes a takes a few more weeks to see the baby! Now her daughter is 3 years old. Good luck girlie. Don't worry about it. When I went at 6 weeks they couldn't even see a sac, I cried all day. I went back this past Monday and I saw baby with heartbeat and it was abdominal us. Dr said I was right on schedule at 8 1/2 weeks. You probably ovulated late. Have faith!

You could maybe not be as far along. I thought i was 6.5 weeks and had spotting so i went to ER. Through ultrasound they found a yolk sack. Just above it was a very small dot. Turns out i was just at 5 weeks. I'm now 12.5 weeks with a growing baby with a strong heartbeat. Good luck (:

This was 7 weeks 3 days. There is a baby for sure. I'm not posting this to scare you I'm just showing you what it looks like. It's very possible you aren't actually as far along as you thought, or it's a BO like the other girls have suggested. I would wait like two weeks and get another ultrasound. See what happens then.
