Vaginal us?

Dose anyone know why they do vaginal us now? Iam 10w but I never had herd of it before.

They can see the baby more clearly and determine a better due date. :)

Normally they do vaginal ultrasounds before 12 weeks because it's more accurate and easier to find baby during the first weeks. after 12 weeks, it's less risky to do external ultrasounds. That's what I've heard anyway.

I'm a pretty big gal (297lbs lol) and because of all the stomach I have, they couldn't just do an abdominal us. I will have to have the vaginal until I'm much further along. 😊
But it definitely gives you a better picture of the baby, positioning, etc.
