37W6D, baby measures in 93%?!

Question

Today I had a growth scan, and found out that my LO is measuring in at 8lbs4oz. So by my due date the baby could be as much as 9lbs6oz.

Which doesn't surprise me, with my first LO same exact situation happened but I chose to induced after 8 days past due date.

I'm seeing a different doctor now, is asking to be induced at 38/39 weeks unreasonable? How should I approach this?

I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were me. You're considered full term at 37 weeks after all!

My son weight 9 pounds, 7 ounces when born at 37+1. A day before hand I had an appointment where a non stress test was done; it monitors the babies kicks and movements and the results basically showed he had no room at all. My point is not to worry and trust doctors. Also make sure they run the test to see if a vaginal birth is even possible with arm and shoulder size. I did not get this and ended up with a c section after 17 hours of natural labor and was exhausted. Avoid that if you can😉

FYI, there is a major push in the U.S. to avoid inductions before 39 weeks unless medically necessary. So, you can be induced prior to 39 weeks if your doc or midwife suggests it's necessary but not just by your own request.
