Full-term?

Question

What is considered safe zone for labor (full-term)? I've heard 37 weeks is but also heard 38-40. I'm 35 weeks and I'm not in a rush but I AM curious. When is it okay to have the baby? And has anyone had their baby at 37 weeks and had everything go well with a healthy baby?

At my lamaze class they said Healthy and Safe birth zone is 37 weeks on!

I believe they changed the definition of full term either last year or the year before. 37 used to be full term, it is now considered early term. 38-39 is late term and 40 is full term.

I had my first at exactly 37 weeks. He was concidered full term and healthy at birth !

I had my first at 36w2d, and he was a healthy  6lbs 10z, 19 3/4" long. We went home the next day.

Thanks ladies! I had an apt today & my Dr said 37 weeks is full term. However, they haven't checked my cervix at all or even provided me with much info. This is my second but this time around I'm more worried! My belly has dropped much earlier than my first and I fell like he's gonna come early!

37 weeks is considered full term. I have to be induced the earliest "safe date" possible bc of my high blood pressure. So I'll be induced a week from today at exactly 37 weeks!

I had my son at 37 weeks exactly and he was healthy. However I did have the steroid shots for his lungs since he was trying to come out way before then. Also, he had to stay an extra day for being severely jaundice.
