Makeup while pregnant. Is it safe?

I just found out I was pregnant. Does anyone know if it's safe to wear makeup and use makeup remover while pregnant? Is there anything I should be avoiding?

I've heard that salicylic acid is bad during pregnancy. Apparently nobody knows the effects of having it on your skin, but your skin is the largest organ on your body and anything you put on it can be absorbed. Usually salicylic acid is in cleansers and spot treatments, but I found it in my revlon colour stay foundation 😢 I switched brands for the rest of my pregnancy

Ask your OB about it. I use a facial cleanser with salicylic acid (asprin) every other day, and my doctor said it was fine, as I'm rinsing it off my face and not ingesting it.

I've been using paraben-free products and ones with more natural ingredients. Parabens can mess with your hormone balance and are found in most products as a preservative so I have been avoiding them.
