why do people find it so hard to be happy for teen moms

yes teen pregnancy is not the best thing but why is there so much hate going towards a young woman who is carrying a child?

Because teen moms, as a general population, not individual, become dead beat parents because they can't afford, can't mentally handle, and are not ready to become selfless the way a child needs. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but we didn't become a statistic for no reason. We became one for facts. So naturally it's easy to think when you hear about another teen gettin pregnant "well the fathers probably going to leave (out of my 6 teen mom friends, 1 still has a baby daddy), she's never going to finish school, she'll probably neglect her child to go out with friends, etc.  again, I'm a teen mom and I see this within my community all of the time and I still assume the worse when I hear about teen pregnancy because even though you think you are prepared and can handle it- YOU STRUGGLE. My son is 2 and up until the last few months I never struggled because I was so set, but now I'm finding it really discouraging to not be able to go to the beach when I want or go to rock the south concerts for the weekend. Of course I stay with my child and don't neglect him or pass him around, but it has been really heavy on my heart and hard to make the grown up, mature decision.

Because teen parents don't usually (or are shown bu the media that they dont) sufficiently provide, adequately raise, teach, or do well for their kids, and teenagers are meant to be furthering their lives academically and financially without the drag-downs of adulthood such as childbearing because there's an entire 20 year time slot in life just for that. In the end, most children of teen parents are shown to become burdens to society by going to jail, living off of the state like their parents, or becoming mentally ill and having to be looked after by the state, or just being criminals. The majority silences the minority of (relatively) good families.

It is so wrong for teenagers to be judged when they have a baby. Yes they are young and some may be irresponsible, but there are an awful lot of teen mums who are awesome mums! It's just the minority that give the rest of the teenage mums a bad name! I mean, let's be fair, just because you're older than someone doesn't make you a better mum... I know teenage mums that make much better parents than older mums... It just depends on the kind of person you are I believe

Not all teens are the same my grandma was a teen mom she had all the support she succeed her goal my mom was a teen mom she also became a successful woman im also a teen mom i just graduated early college and in two years i will finish  my nursing classes but i will do my best for my daughter won't end up as a teen mom

Because they find reasons to bitch. I've got a few comments about being a burden to the economy for being pregnant at 17, but I don't let the ignorance get to me as that isn't important - my daughter is.

You could be 20 and pregnant and they'd still bitch at you for it.. Because that's considered a teen mom and it isn't "logical," or it isn't safe. But I don't let it bother me. My daughter wasn't planned, but she isn't a mistake, that's for damn sure.
