I'm 38 weeks. I was 3cm dilated, 75% effaced last Monday. I am having period like cramps that last like 10 seconds and come every couple minutes. Any ideas ?

As a L&D nurse if you have had a normal pregnancy, feeling baby move, no vaginal bleeding, and water is not broken I would wait until they were every 3-4 minutes and lasting 60 seconds.

See if your uterus is feeling tightened and hard when you experience the "cramp" pains. If it's hard and tensed up it could be contractions so try to start timing how far apart they are.
