Congestion?

My friend is pregnant too;she's 28w and I'm 15w. For a week I have been majorly congested and have been blaming it on allergies. She told me it's a part of pregnancy. Anyone ever dealt with or felt this before? It's so annoying and my allergy meds haven't been helping but if it's from pregnancy than why would they.

Allergies are worse than normal when you are pregnant.  I had to take allergy pills for about a week before I had some congestion relief.  But not all congestion during pregnancy is allergy related.  If you have congestion without other allergic symptoms like itchy eyes or sore throat, it's probably just congestion.  The upped level of estrogen causes the mucus membranes of the body to over produce and the increased volume of blood and cause the capillaries and tissues of the sinus to swell.  Leading to ultimate nasal lock down.

Yes definitely had congestion for the first few months! Very annoying - went through sooo many tissues lol
