LGBT Supreme Court Controversy

Dakota • Senior in high school. Lucky to be with my handsome guy since 4/24/14

So, I was extremely excited when I heard the announcement of gay marriage made legal in all 50 states. I am Christian and not LGBT but I have a strong belief everyone deserves equality.

I've read a few things about people saying that the Supreme Court over stepped by not letting the individual states decide, therefore making them question our governments democracy.

But others think that this brings us together and more uniform.

What do you think?

Please be kind. ☺

To Erika, since this was too long to post as a reply to your comment...Ignorance isn't always bliss dear. They didn't do it to "create disorder in the world", they did it to give EQUAL rights to ALL Americans. I'm not gay, and I'm far from a "soft hearted woman". I know what's right and what isn't and I'm a very bold person. Yet, I believe in equality. They are BORN that way, they don't CHOOSE to be ridiculed and be the target of so much hate. Some gay couples were faithful to each other for many many years and never got the chance to marry. They aren't out to convert straight people to their way of life, they just wanted to be able to have the same human rights as us.  And now they do. And if you ever got to know a gay or lesbian person you'd see they aren't that different from us, other than the fact that they are attracted to the same sex. Do some research before you judge. As a Christian, I was taught to LOVE EVERYONE, because love should see no color, gender, or religion. And if you'll look it up, not all that long ago it was illegal to marry OUT OF YOUR RACE.. Ignorant right? This is no different.

And lastly, back to the "normal" thing... Homosexual couples can be parents, they work, buy homes, cars, etc., some even go to CHURCH (GASP OMG NO WAY!!!), pay taxes, etc.. That's as normal as it gets dear.

Either a child, or a VERY immature, unevolved, uneducated adult. I sincerely hope that you fall in love, and get married, and get to experience what so many of us are experiencing: marriage.

It would have happens in every state eventually, now we don't have to wait it out. I personally dont understand why as the United States of America, every state can have different laws. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being the 'United' States?

Gay marriage was illegal because a few people didn't like it, More than a few people don't like trump, can we make him illegal? 😜😜😜

With respect: am so fed up of hearing how some don't agree, it's not normal, it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, my religion is against it bla bla bla.  It's done now and there's nothing any of you or your man made idealodgy can do about it, so just sit the F""k down, or take your shallow to the fridge of fucks, but just beware my fridge is empty! Byereeeee

I'm all for it!! I feel that just because someone loves a person of the same gender doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to get married. There are straight people marrying and divorcing in the same week, and (until recently) gay people in loving, committed relationships for decades with no chance of marriage. It is a beautiful thing that EVERYONE should be able to enjoy. I'm a proud supporter!
