Birth Control Question?

So because I'm not ovulating often or have periods like every woman is suppose to. Concieving right now is at pause. My Doctor wants me to use it for a couple of months and then get off it so I can get pregnant. How soon do you think that can happen? ALSO, Can you take prenatals while you're taking Birth Control?
