Doctor's Appointment Yesterday

I went to the doctor about absence of period and after we talked a little she wants to see if I have pcos so she ordered labs (blood work - they took two samples) and an ultrasound for my ovaries (which I have to come in to get once they call and tell me my appointment is ready). If I have it her course of action to take will be birth control (which we literally got into an argument about) and metformin. Has anyone had a similar experience and same treatment course?
