Implantation Bleeding?

So Hubs and I were not TTC but not preventing while on vacation earlier this month. My period is supposed to start tomorrow but starting yesterday I had a tiny bit if brown spotting then today brown/pink spotting again in the morning. Later this afternoon I thought I started my period but it ended up just being a small amount of reddish brown blood and now nothing. Normally once my period starts it's like turning on a faucet (sorry if that's too graphic) so this is very weird for me. I'm wondering of maybe this is implantation bleeding? Has anyone had this happen before? I can't test until hubby is back in town Friday evening. It would be our first so he wants to be here when I test. But any advice would be helpful. Other symptoms are: sore boobs, more sensitive/irritable than normal, heightened sense of smell and today foods I normally love tasted really weird.
