Inserting medication ?

I passed the fetus last Friday (I was 10weeks) and yesterday's ultra sound showed I have a small piece left inside me that needs to pass.  Ob prescribed me medication to take in 4 doses in 24 hours.  In hopes my next ultra sound will show it's all gone so I don't need a d and c.

I had a mc in feb at 5 weeks but everything passed within days on it's own.

Those who had to insert the pills, how much pain should I expect. She did give me pain killers as well.  I didn't experience any pain/cramps with either miscarriage.

I've taken the pills three times for that! Twice vaginally one orally. This all started on the 17th. Yesterday they schedule me for a D&C and last night I passed a little piece of tissue but there was still more left. So I had my D&C this afternoon at 12. I wish my OB would have scheduled me for the D&C after the mess didn't work the last time instead of waiting its been 13 days now and I've been bleeding since the first dose of the pills and having cramps. Now after the D&C I'm still bleeding and I just feel raw down there. But they could have done this a week ago instead of prolonging the process. I went in for an ultrasound at 11 weeks 3 days and the measured 8 weeks 2 days so it's been over a month since I had the missed miscarriage and I'm just now getting everything out of me. It made it harder to move on with my life and not to mention the work I've missed.

I was thinking that but not sure if it was a good idea to take the pain killer  an hour before inserting

When I miscarried I took my dosages orally, but nothing happened. My OB has me double my dosage and cut the time in half. I had to in cert 4 pills vaginally. It wasn't bad, but doing it vaginally makes the whole process happen very quickly.. When I started cramping(it was painful) the fetus passed within 30 minutes. If I were you, I would take the pain Ned's before..
