"No uterus, no opinion" ??

Question

My wonderful husband is one of those super picky men, at our wedding he was kind of a groomszilla. As we're trying to conceive and we talk about potentially having a child we disagree about EVERYTHING! Insurance, birth plans, names, knowing the gender, when to tell family and what family members, midwife or OBGYN, and the list goes on.
I have 4 sisters and 2 sisters in law that have had children and they kind of go by the saying "no uterus, no opinion" when it comes to their husbands. It's so hard having a husband that has an opinion {most of the time it's the opposite of mine}. 
I love my husband dearly and I understand that this would be HIS child too. But I feel like {in my opinion} I have to do way more! It's so frustrating sometimes. Anyone else have wonderfully picky husbands? 😉 Any advice on how to help him understand my point of view or help me to understand his point of view?

Umm for real? The fathers don't get an opinion simply because they didn't carry the baby? That seems pretty backwards to me. That child is 50% theirs as well. Decisions should be made together. Mom's opinion is not better than dad's. Unless it's a decision about mom's body, I say dad has equal opinion about raising the kid.

Saying "no uterus, no opinion" is a load of crap. That child shares his DNA, and he has a vested interest in that child's wellbeing. He should be allowed to have an opinion and be a part of the decision making process because he is A PARENT.

My husband just wants what will make me and our baby happy. We have very similar parenting philosophies, so I'm not worried about that. As far as the pregnancy and birth process; he just wants whatever will make me feel comfortable.

I think it's best if you can reach agreements on things together but only if you are both completely informed on the topic and not just sticking to emotional decisions. In my situation for example, I tend to research things and look at multiple angles whereas my hubby gets excited about ideas without really thinking them through. So I feel like I end up overruling him/bringing him back down to earth a lot.

Yikes! 'No uterus, no opinion?' I hope this is said with a bit of a sense of humor. I can see you saying this if your husband wanted you to wear clothes unflattering to your baby bump or wanting you to do something that seems easy but when you're pregnant it's just not. But my husband and I discuss everything and compromise, you should be happy he's interested in the life of your child, tons of men don't give that much effort.

Anything that is about your body is your choice: that means how you treat it during and after pregnancy including pain management during birth, who looks at your vagina (midwife, obgyn) and wether or not your breastfeed (also if you want to cover up). BUT: getting his opinion should be something that helps you makes decisions.

Anything that is about the baby specifically is shared: name, how to dicipline and so on.

At least that's my opinion. Cutting him off from having an opinion simple because he isn't a woman is ridiculous.
