I think if you declare a father(I.e he's involved and he's on the birth certificate) you both have to sign the adoption documents. In most states 16 is old enough to make legal decisions for your child and your health concerning pregnancy. Your parents may still want to be involved as well as his parents.

If you truly wish to adopt your child out with the least complications go to a women's crisis center and get educated on your states process. Also they may be able to get you in touch with a lawyer that deals with these issues pro bono(at no cost till settlement or ending)
