Going out with your 1week old?

I just had my baby one week ago from today and we're suppose to go to the lake Saturday for July 4th but I'm nervous about having him around people! What does everyone think?

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. See how you each of you feel on the day and do whatever feels right on the day. New babies and planning don't always go together, it's just how you feel at the time.

I'd consider the heat, and who else would be there. A small gathering of healthy adults, maybe. Something with small kids in school or daycare (with potential for a lot of germ exposures), probably not so much

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I personally wouldn't do it...and I know you're the mom but I don't think it's the best decision to take him.

I will only take my son out that early to go to the doctor. You're the mom though, ultimately it's up to you. Whatever your gut says, go with it.
