Child Protective Services?

Question

So I know this couple who recently had a baby. They leave the baby with their parents for several days without seeing her. They are out partying and doing drugs, weed, cocaine and acid. They spent $100 on cocaine then asked a friend if they could borrow some money to help get dipers. They don't tell their parents any of this. They say that they are "catching up on some sleep". I feel like I should report them but I'm not sure. Anyone have any input and if I should what do I do?

The cocaine they will be able to see in a hair sample. I would call CPS for sure. That's not right.

Why would u want to take their child from them if their not being physically harmed? They take Em to they parents which means the child is not around while they do w/e drug they choose to do.. If they were harming the child then yea but thts not the case u don't kno how u can affect  someone's life by takin their children

At least they are taking them to the grandparents I guess, but who's to say they don't do drugs when the baby is around too? I would report it, or at least get more information about what reporting entails. The fact they spent all their money on drugs and then had to borrow money for diapers says a lot to me, in fact it screams to me what is more important to them. It seems a few people on here are almost condoning that what they are doing is ok since they take the baby to the grandparents. To me it isn't. I also like the suggestion of writing an anonymous letter. I admire you for recognizing how wrong this is and wanting to change something about it. We need more people like you in the world.

You can report suspected abuse or NEGLECT. You don't have to physically abuse your kids to hurt them. Drug abuse and leaving him for long periods of time is emotionally abusive, especially if the child is in the 0-4 age range. The parent's drug abuse is not ok. The child will develop insecure attachments to others if the neglect continues. If anything, the grandparents of the child can step up to get custody of the child, so he can still maintain a family connection

Yikes, that's a toughy..they do drop the baby off with responsible people, but they're not being great parents either in the crap they're doing. I'd talk with the grandparents (or whoever that's keeping baby) and let them know you're worried and concerned about the baby's well being and see where it goes from there. If cps is called without grandparents knowing the situation, they might not get to see baby again if it gets taken from it's parents, and that's not right. Poor bub, I hope everything turns out ok for baby's sake :(

I like how I posted this asking for advice becuse I'm not sure what to do. I got some helpful things from some but the rest are not  helpful. I didn't post this to be criticized or judged. I've been thinking about this for a couple months. It's not like I just decided to do it. Before you say things you should think.

That's the whole reason why they probably left them with their grandparents for a little while, so that their parents could see their grand babies while they go out so they don't harm the baby. They were being responsible and not doing it around the baby. But if u know for a fact that they do drugs around the baby, then report them.

Colorado CPS is useless. I've reported sexual abuse, drugs, etc and my daughters father still has rights. Yet a girl made a false claim against me because her ex (my SO) started dating me, and they came immediately.
