Implantation or Period?? HELP!!

I am new to this and I was hoping if you could help me please..been having so many different symptoms that are far from my regular PMS..yesterday at work I felt about 6 sharp stabbing pains in my right side that it made me stop work (never had this) and then went away..about an hour after that I started spotting pink..my cervix is high, soft and closed so I am confused..today was a light heavier but didn't fill a pad at all..can anyone help me..I am 41 and TTC for 10 months now..
