Yesterday I was 5 weeks & 4 days pregnant. Last night while watching tv, I began to experience intense period like cramping. I just knew something wasn't right, so I went to the bathroom and wipes. Sure enough, blood, dark red blood. I immediately began to cry...

We went into the ER soon after -- we wanted to know what was going on. They gave me a catheter and filled me up with liquid so they could do an ultrasound. They also did a transvaginal ultrasound. They drew my blood to test for HCG. We were there from 10:30pm-2:30am. Of course, nothing was conclusive. The doctor said he wasn't hopeful since my HCG levels were at 29. I have to make an appointment now with my  midwife group to check on my levels in 48 hours.

I have a pad on and haven't really bled on it. However, when I go to the bathroom there's a lot of red blood, like a period. I have mild cramping this morning.

I am so sad. I know I haven't gotten a real answer, but given the circumstances and that my HCG is so low, I'm basically assuming that I have miscarried. I had a week of excitement, finding out and getting excited with my husband. It is just such a terrible feeling to know that this time may not have worked out.

This is  the  stuff no one tells you about... but it's so real and I know I'm not the only one.
