Hey all! First time father here. My wife and I had our ultrasound today, and found out that we are having a girl. We waited until we got home to find out, we had the ultrasound tech mark an "X" on one of the two boxes we brought in (one pink onesie, one blue in each box). Opened it up when we got home, found out it was a girl. First thing that came out of my mouth was, "She is not leaving the house". I was a collegiate football player and state champion wrestler and had dreams of watching and coaching my son. I was visibly upset, my wife was hoping for a boy as well. She got over it quickly, I feel like it will take me some time to accept it. This is our first child and I know we will have a possibility of conceiving a male in the future, but I was really wanting that boy. I should feel blessed to be able to conceive a child at all, and I am! Still, I do feel a little down. Has anyone else experienced the same kind of emotions?
