Child custody

Would you consider a 3 hr distance "long distance" for divorced parents of a child. Also, what type of visitation would u think is appropriate. The 3yr old child has always lived only with the mom since the parents divorced when she was exactly 1yr old. There is nothing wrong with either parent, but the dad did very little to see the child until recently and is now playing victim, oh and he hasn't paid child support ever because it was not ordered(in my opinion a decent dad would contribute regardless). We are going to court soon, and he is going to say terrible 95% untrue things about me (the mother). What do you think the court will do? Do you know of any one with child custody and a similar distance or situation? I don't know what to expect and am dieing inside with anxiety.
