How many cloth diapers?

We were given a ton of disposable diapers to get us through the first couple months and then we want to switch to cloth diapers.

Someone already bought us 6 so far, how many more is needed? I don't wanna go overboard or under.

From what I've heard and read, about 24 is good. Unless your doing prefolds/flats and cover. Then you only need about 6-8covers and 24 prefolds or flats.

Ok thanks ladies! A friend recommended the Alva baby ones. I've got 6 so far and each came with 2 inserts.

It all depends on the type. But between 20 and 25 is good. I highly suggest you stick with the same type. (not necessarily the same brand)
