Vitamin D

Carla • 43 years old, 1 late loss + 4 Mc = 5 years of sadness. Miracle baby May 5, 2018 ❤️
I've had 4 MC now, had every test under the sun, and it's come up that the only explanation is age and bad luck.
Went to a naturopath who had me do a bunch of blood tests, one of them being vitamin D levels. I'd read many studies about a year ago on how vitamin D levels are important for carrying a pregnancy, and so I started taking additional vitamin D on top of my prenatals.
Turns out my levels are still quite low. I've upped my dosage and am making sure to sit in the sun 15 mins a day ( just started a fee days ago).
Could this be my answer? I was so happy to find out this news..... Gave me some hope. Just wanted to share with everyone, especially those with unexplained diagnoses.

I had 3 MC & also found out I had very low Vitamin D levels. I was prescribed a very strong dose to take over 6 weeks and when that was done I still took over the counter. Shortly after beigining the prescription 5 weeks I was pregnant.. now I'm 12 weeks with our rainbow baby & just stopped my vitamin D pills about two weeks ago. Good luck

I don't know about fertility, but low vitamin D did cause me other health issues. I wasn't TTC then, so not sure how it might have impacted that.

i had a lot of numbess in my hands, feet and legs as well as a lot of fatigue. there was a slew of other things wrong at the time but that is what was attributed to the low vitamin D.

May I ask what health issues it caused you to have?

Apparently I have a clotting disorder and I'm pretty sure it's related ( found out after my post).

I have had 5 MCs and I am now 13 weeks pg with twins. I have been taking vit d supplement for a while... the only difference this time is that I am on baby aspirin and daily injections of anticoagulant. Ask your RE about it as I am sure it is thanks to that treatment that it worked.

Your doctor can order you a prescription strength vitamin d. It comes in 50,000 units and is taken for 3 months, it's given to elderly frequently. I work nights and my level was 15 I think. I took it for 3 months and it went up to 21 which is still low but not that bad so now I just take over the counter vitamin d.
