Terrible twos?

What behavior does this consist of? I know dumb question. It's my first child and no idea of what I'm dealing with is all that. I have a boy who will be 2 in October.

I have two kiddos, and would say at 2yo, they are starting to test their limits. If mommy says ___, does she mean it and does she mean it all the time. What will happen if I do/don't do ___. And learning to do things on their own: pick out clothes, dress themselves, ect. 
It doesn't have to be terrible. If they know the boundaries and consequences (all of life has these) it makes it easier for them and you. Just be consistent for them. For example, if you say no candy before lunch, stick to it today, tomorrow, next week, and 6 months for now. 
And have a schedule for them, helps them know what to expect. Give warnings when you'll be leaving a fun activity. 5/10 minutes until we need to go.

Every child is different. Mine would constantly be into everything they weren't supposed too. Pitch fits if they didn't get their way. Would only eat the same foods day in and day out. Among other things like that.. I wouldn't really consider it "terrible twos", just at that age they are learning to be little people...not babies anymore. They are curious and trying to figure out what you will amd will not allow. Let them know from the beginning when they do something wrong. Example..if you put a plate of food in front of them and they throw it on the ground, don't just ignore that behavior because they will think that is the way they are supposed to communicate to you that they don't want it.
