Periods after stopping birth control

I was on birth cntrol (nuvaring ) for about 4 yrs , age 21 to 25 .I liked it and periods were regular and normal. BEFORE that I was never on any bc and had irregular periods. However the nuvaring made me very moody. Eventually I switched to lo loestine fe, a low hormone birth control pill, was on it about a year and a half, mood was great buy it made my periods completely go away. I switched insurance and sadly was no longer covered for this pill. So for the last 3 months I've been on nothing just using condoms, so my issue is, how long before I get normal periods? I've had only 2 in 3 months. And because prior to birth control I was always irregular, it's hard to tell what's normal for me . Should I see a doctor? Could there be some kind of hormonal imbalance ? Or just wait a few more months? I don't want to get back on bc yet, it is always trial and error with me so I wanna give my body a break
